Standing Against the World

An example of the antichrist movement is the campaign to remove Christian symbols from public places. Advocates use buzzwords like “religious freedom” to mean freedom from religion. Those listening, even some believers, are fooled into agreeing that worship should be private. The subtle motive often goes unnoticed to push Jesus out of society.

The world finds Christ offensive. Many people today claim we each can design our own belief system. But Jesus said faith in Him is the only way to a relationship with the Father.

Another worldly, antichrist idea is doing what feels right is fine, as long as no one gets hurt. Yet, Jesus taught that sin of any action, thought, or attitude contrary to God’s principles has consequences.

Antichrist philosophies will often sound persuasive because Satan designs lies to appeal to human nature. Therefore, believers must know right from wrong. The Lord has provided three guides for safely navigating through life.

First, the Holy Spirit enables us to discern God’s facts from Satan’s fiction. Next, Scripture explains the truth about the Trinity and the divine plan for mankind. Finally, we have access to righteous people who preach and teach authentic Christianity.

Even if some unbelievers try to erase Jesus Christ’s name from society, they can’t remove all of His followers. We need to stand firmly rooted in Scripture and proclaim the gospel. God can work through us and win souls for His glory.

Abide faith, hope, love

“And now abide faith, hope, love.”

(1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV)

God gives us HOPE. We have hope in the future because Christ loves us. He has promised us a place with Him in heaven for all eternity if Christ is our Savior and Lord.

What are you going through today? Are you sick or despairing? Hope in God, and He will be your comfort and your strength.

God has not promised to remove every problem on this earth, but He does answer prayer and He asks us to come to Him in prayer.

Prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband

“I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

Revelation 21:2

Our 6th reason to believe in God issimple — eternity is a long time.  We are only on this earth for a relatively short time — maybe 70 years, more or less.  Eternity is forever — it goes on for millions and millions of years after we die.

Where will we spend eternity?  If we have accepted Christ as our Savior, we will spend eternity in heaven with God forever.  What will heaven be like?  We know that we will be with God, Who is the source of truth, and love, and beauty, and everything good.

What would it be like to spend eternity apart from God?  It would be awful — to spend eternity apart from God.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

2 Timothy 2:15

You can study about God!  God is the most wonderful being in the universe.  He created the heavens and the earth; He loves us so much He sent His Son Jesus to die for us; He sent His Holy Spirit to live inside us as Christians.  He is loving, and just, and kind, and merciful.  We have so much to learn about Him!

You can learn about God and how to live a Christian life.  There are good books to help you, but the best source is the Bible itself.

I encourage you to take some time each day to learn about God.

The joy of the Lord is your strength

The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Nehemiah 8:10

Rejoice in the Lord always!  When the Apostle Paul wrote these words in the Bible in Philippians 4:4 almost 2,000 years ago, he was in a Roman prison.

How can we rejoice in the Lord — even in tough times like being in prison?  Earlier this year I visited the prison in Rome where they believe one of the apostles was kept — a tiny cell with no windows set in cold gray rock.  If you were in prison there I would think it would be very hard to be full of joy.

The secret is what follows.  Paul rejoices because he is a Christian; because he knows he is going to heaven; because God is with him; because he is filled with the Holy Spirit.  Paul goes on to say “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6, 7

Learning from a Relationship Breakdown

A divorce, separation or, in general, any loss of an important relationship is a painful experience. . Such pain can seriously diminish our peace and happiness. We can, however, use this inner discomfort for our spiritual benefit. If we are thinking of separating, there are many lessons we need to examine before we can come to the conclusion that we must separate from someone. But if the other leaves us or this separation has already happened, we might be able to benefit from the following.

1. Our first lesson is to examine our behavior to see how we might have contributed to the problem. Only in this way can we create a new healthy relationship if we chose to.

2. We may need to learn to love the other in spite of his or her behavior, regardless of whether we stay with that person or not.

3. We can discover that we can live without this person and that happiness, security and love are internal states that are always within us, if only we allow ourselves to experience them.

4. We can use this opportunity to develop greater inner strength so as to feel confident and able to face whatever may come to us in the game of life.

5. Most of us will need to change our self-image. We need now to learn to accept, love and respect ourselves more, so that we do not create the same problem in our next relationship or in life in general.

6. By directing our energies in a spiritual direction and developing a relationship with God - the Universal Being, we are no longer so vulnerable or so dependent on others for our feelings of security and self-worth.

Our lessons might be separated into five categories:

1. We might need to learn to communicate more effectively, assertively and lovingly.

2. Perhaps we need to let go of some attachments, which are increasing our conflicts with others and diminishing our happiness.

3. Examine our behaviors that might be annoying the other.

4. Free ourselves from subconscious programmings, which limit our self-esteem and ability to attract the behaviors that we deserve.

5. Develop inner feelings of security, self worth and freedom.

Once our happiness, security and love have become internalized, we can experience unconditional love. Although we need to make every possible step to heal our relationships, if and when a relationship breaks down, there is still much we can learn. Be Well

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

In the Christian life, we should depend not on our own power or strength, but on the power of God.  David said in Psalm 20, “Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand.  Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.  They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”

God’s power is tremendous.  God is the One who created the world — who is the author of all that is good.  His power holds the universe together — and He wants to fill you with His Holy Spirit.  “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

According to your faith will it be done to you.

According to your faith will it be done to you.

Matthew 9:29

What is one of the keys to having God answer our prayers?  Jesus said we were to pray in faith.  “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  Mark 11:24

So let us ask in faith!  How do we get faith?  We ask God, who is the author of every good gift.  The Bible says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If we are a Christian, then God is our good and wonderful heavenly father.  He loves us and wants to give us all that is good for our lives.  So let us pray in faith for His will to be done on this earth.

He gave the right to become children of God

As many as received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God…”

John 1:12

Please pray that everyone in the whole world would come to know God personally!

Many people know about God; not everyone knows God personally.  The wonderful thing about being a Christian is we can know God as our loving heavenly Father through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every day, millions of people are searching the internet to know more about God.  Thousands of them come to our websites.

It is so important that people come to know Christ personally as their savior.  Let us pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit throughout the world so that millions will come to know Christ.

Seek first the kingdom of God

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33 (NAS)

Let us seek to win the world for Christ and bring glory to God and He will supply all our needs in Christ Jesus.
